🇬🇧 Hi, I may have to apologize a little for the “violence” of the visual posted last week, but here it is, incomprehension and bitterness were stronger than reason and restraint.

I really like this software suite. She has provided me with valuable service every day for many years. I have a lot of pleasure using it, a lot of satisfaction. These tools are very well thought out.

Another proof this morning...

I often create visuals for book covers. After an initial phase of discussion with the editor on several different axes, we decide on one of them. Then, it's up to me to refine it one last time with several variations: position of titles, typography, coloring... and here an alternative on an element in the foreground. The publisher and the author will thus have the pleasure of making a choice from several avenues.

I create a first HD photographic montage with Affinity Photo consisting of a background and two objects cut out in the foreground. The file weighs approximately 43 MB.

I then open this .afphoto file in Affinity Publisher in order to create variations on as many pages (and then have the possibility of generating a .pdf file for customers in a single action): I duplicate the pages (here, around ten ) by modifying the foreground object on each of them, changing the compositions, proportions, coloring, filter assignment and other layer effects. Nothing fancy, just graphic designer work.

How much does the .apub file ultimately weigh?… 39 MB!…

This is what I call a (very) good graphics tool.

I hope that with this sale announced last week, the Serif Europe team will continue to develop these tools with the same relevance, the same intelligence. I wish it, without any “violence”, but very ardently.

 

🇫🇷 Bonjour, je dois peut-être présenter quelques excuses concernant la “violence” du visuel posté la semaine dernière, mais voilà, l'incompréhension et l'amertume ont été plus fortes que la raison et la retenue.

J'apprécie énormément cette suite logicielle. Elle me rend de précieux service tous les jours, depuis de nombreuses années. J'ai beaucoup de plaisir à l'utiliser, beaucoup de satisfaction. Ces outils sont très bien pensés.

Encore une preuve ce matin…

Je réalise souvent des visuels de couvertures de livres. Après une première phase d'échange avec l'éditeur sur plusieurs axes différents, on statue sur l'un d'entre eux. Ensuite, à moi de l'affiner une dernière fois avec plusieurs déclinaisons : position des titres, typographies, colorisations… et ici une alternative sur un élément au premier plan. L'éditeur et l'auteur auront ainsi le plaisir de faire un choix devant plusieurs pistes.

Je réalise un premier montage photographique HD avec Affinity Photo constitué d'un arrière-plan et deux objets détourés sur le premier plan. Le fichier pèse environ 43 Mo.

J'ouvre ensuite ce fichier .afphoto dans Affinity Publisher afin de créer les déclinaisons sur autant de pages (et avoir ensuite la possibilité de générer en une seule action un fichier .pdf pour les clients) : je duplique les pages (ici, une dizaine) en modifiant sur chacune d'entre elles l'objet de premier plan, en faisant évoluer les compositions, les proportions, les colorisations, l'affectation de filtres et autres effets de calques. Rien d'extraordinaire, juste un travail de graphiste.

Combien pèse au final le fichier .apub ?… 39 Mo !…

Voilà ce que j'appelle un (très) bon outil graphique.

J'espère qu'avec cette vente annoncée la semaine dernière, l'équipe Serif Europe continuera à développer ces outils avec la même pertinence, la même intelligence. Je le souhaite, sans aucune “violence”, mais très ardemment.
