I'm playing with the Mixer Brush in Affinity Photo, which is quite fun 😎

I'm wondering what controls the fade effect? Some of the brushes seem to hold the paint as long as I can make the stroke, whereas others have a more realistic fade effect. In both cases I have turned off "Auto Load Brush" and "Auto Clean Brush". I looked at the brush settings and I don't see any differences that stand out to me. I'm sure I missed something.

Below are 2 examples of oil brushes:

Thanks!

Hi @TrentL,

I'm currently trying to find this out as from my experiments, there doesn't appear to be anything we can use to control the fade.  Hopefully, I'm wrong and as soon as I hear anything, I'll update you here :)

Hi @TrentL,

So I've just heard back from QA with the following:

1) The Base Texture heavily influences it
2) Nozzle (Dense Oil has a pretty solid nozzle and Fibers Oil has holes in it)
3) Spacing can affect it

There isn't a setting under Edit Brush>Dynamics that controls this.  So it's not exactly straightforward and more a combination of things.  Hopefully, the above information helps :)
