dwg dxf export problems

I’m trying to export a dmg or dxf from affinity designer 2. but i’m having issues.  if i draw a simple shape with the pen tool. i can export it as dmg, and import it into Shapr3d app with no problem. 

However , if I type a text and export it imports to Shapr3d, but it shows nothing on the layer.  

I also tried to convert text to curves… same result. 

Shapr3d support says it won’t import correctly, because of they say it imports as a “hatch” object and won’t import .  is there a way to export to compensate for this?

Conversion from text to curves results in a group containing the curves. Are you exporting the group, or only its contents?

Have you tried exporting to PDF?

i’ve tried exporting as both still get the  same results each time. i can’t export as a pdf because Shapr3d only allows for dmg , dxf import file types. 

  I feel like there is a setting at the export screen i need to check or uncheck. I just can’t figure out which setting i need

My mistake. I thought I’d seen PDF listed on the Shapr3D support site as an import format, but I can see now that it’s only available as an export option.

no problem. yes, i’ve been requesting that they implementing vector formats into their software.  but no luck so far. that’s why im trying to get this whole dmg dxf import working

Does this file import correctly in Shapr3d? I don't have the app and I believe there's no demo.

i will try it as soon as i get home from work today. thanks.  what program did you design it in? any special settings when exporting ?

there is a very limited version of Shapr3d. ( at least there was when I started). not sure if it will let you export though.

It was done in Affinity Designer. No special settings on export. I've just converted the text (the whole word) directly to curves (single object). I have no idea if it makes any difference when importing to Shapr3d.

so I think I cracked it.  it seems this issue wan the infill of a vectors.  if i set the infill to transparent and leave just the stroke when I export. then when I import into Shapr3d, it reads it now. which is cool. I can then extrude and manipulate it just as I would with any other 3d shape.  thanks for your help guys
