Affinity Photo V2.4 photo - RAW photo looks muddy, Histogram is "off" when opened in Develop Persona

Recommended Posts

The first screenprint is a RAW image opened in the Develop Persona in Affinity Photo 1.10.6.  Note the difference in the rendering.  Also note Histogram

The second screenprint is the same RAW image opened in the Develop Persona in Affinity Photo newly upgraded V2.4.  Note the Histogram shows the different rendering of the photo.  No adjustments have been made to either image.

JPG and .af photos opened in the Photo Persona both render just fine.  Only the RAW image in the Develop Persona in newly upgraded v2.4 is bad.

I tried turning off the "OpenCL" in Performance Setting as suggested in another "rendering" issue.  I have restarted both the app and the computer several times.

Windows 11. OS

Thank you for any help you can give me in solving this problem.

Welcome to the forums @JWales,

In the Develop persona I'd initially suggest opening the Develop assistant (on the toolbar the robot head icon in V2, the suit icon in V1) in both apps and comparing the settings you have enabled in V1 and V2, particularly take note of the 'Tone Curve' setting as if this is set to 'Take no action' in V2 then this will likely be the reason for the duller initial image, as no tonal correction is being applied to the RAW. If this is set to 'Take no action' set it to 'Apply Tone curve' and then close and re-open the RAW file again for this to take effect.

If it's already being applied, could you possibly provide a copy of the RAW file so we can take a look?
