Robert Rado
Hello, I have both the iPad Publisher and the Publisher for Mac. I created a project on the iPad and when I wanted to open it on the Mac I got an error message, saying it cannot be opened because the file was created in a “later” version of Affinity Publisher. Both the iPad and the Mac versions are the latest version. Any ideas? Many thanks, Robert
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Robert. I don’t have a Mac, but I have no problems creating version 2 files on iPad and then opening them on Windows (or vice versa). What are the build numbers for your apps? Robert Rado
Thanks Alfred for replying to my query, much appreciated. When you say “build number” is that the same as the version number? Thanks, Robert

Sorry, the build number really only matters for test releases, before a stable release is made generally available. For the present purposes, you just need to check the version numbers. APub 2 on iPad is currently at version 2.4.0.2301 (i.e. version 2.4.0, build 2301); you’ll see that information at the bottom of the General page when you tap on the Settings icon on the Home Screen. The splash screen in the Windows version only tells me the version number (2.4.0). Robert Rado
Thanks Alfred, so my iPad runs version 2.4.0.2301 and the Mac runs 1.10.8 (and under “about” it says it’s the latest version) And when I want to open the file I created on the iPad, I get an error message (attached below). Many thanks again, Robert
walt.farrell
You will need to purchase and install V2 on your Mac if you want to use Affinity files created on your iPad. V2 files can't be opened in V1.
