deepblue
Hello, I got the latest version of Affinity Designer 2.4 today installed on my Mac. To test I have one in AD I created a few auxiliary lines and wanted a rectangle with them Mount dimensions 20 x 20 mm. Unfortunately, the rectangle does not always line up 100% with the auxiliary lines. I made a video about it and I hope you can see exactly what I mean. Somehow either 0.1 mm is missing or the rectangle doesn't line up 100% with the guide lines. Am I perhaps doing something wrong? I can't reproduce it though. Can you post a screenshot of the snapping options window? Staff MEB Posted February 28 Staff Share Posted February 28 Hi @deepblue, What's the size of the document you are working with? Please go to the Snapping Options and check the Screen Tolerance value - by default it should be 8 but you can increase it. I can see you have Snap to Guides enabled. Is this happening consistently for you or was just a single occasion? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

deepblue
I have now selected Window -> Studio -> Reset Studio. I then set the snap option as shown in the screenshot. It works now. Staff MEB Posted February 28 Staff Share Posted February 28 Those snapping options do not interfere with snapping to the guides unless there's a grid set and visible which weren't the case in your video (pixel grid is always ignored by snapping). I believe you experienced a glitch. That's why I was asking if you were experiencing the issue consistently. If you enable these two snapping options again, it should continue working fine. deepblue
Thank you very much again for the quick help. I previously had version 2.3.1 and then switched to version 2.4.0 productive with the update. Previously there were no problems with the alignment of objects or with the alignment to the guides. I only noticed this today after updating to version 2.4.0. Is there a way to reset everything to factory settings after an update such as the update to 2.4.0? Anyway, it's working again now. The few things I did is set the snap option and reset it under Window --> Studio --> Studio. Thank you again for the great update and keep it up! 😃 Quote -- Apple 2020 Mac Mini M1 Chip (16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) Affinity V2 Universallizenz 2.3.1 + always latest beta

If you force pixel alignment then yes it will affect the snapping to the pixel no matter if/and besides there's a grid defined or not. I should have been more clear nonetheless. It could have caused the OP's problem if it were initially enabled but that wasn't the case. Thanks for raising the issue.
