inkster Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 Hello, When I double click on an affinity document (photo, designer, it opens with publisher v2 application, wven though it is a .afphot or .afdesigner document. Is this intended? Or how do I get it to open with correct application? Thank you Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 The OS determines which application to use. On Windows, by default, I think it will use the last application you installed that says it can handle that type of file (based on the extension). Since all three Affinity applications can open any if the three file types (.afphoto, .afdesign, .afpub) the OS can easily get this wrong. I think something similar can happen on macOS and possibly on iPadOS. Windows allows you to right-click and pick the application you want using "Open with...". Or you could start the application, and use File > Open or drag/drop instead of double-clicking. Or you can tell Windows which application to use by default for each file type. macOS allows something similar.
