Layers and Recoloring effects are not exporting properly as a PDF/X-1a:2003

Recommended Posts

I am stuck on this project. I am not sure if there is a bug or user error? When I go to export the file as PDF/X-1a:2003 it loses a texture layer and some of my recoloring. It looks like the 2nd image. I don't get any warnings or error messages. It exports like everything is fine but when you open the file the color is all wrong. I am an artist, not a tech person so I appreciate the help.

Hi @TerriS,

Without seeing your Affinity file it's going to be a little tricky to ascertain the exact cause, it looks as though some of the texture is there but I suspect what you are seeing is the result of colour conversion when exporting...

A few initial questions...

  1. Could you confirm the 'Colour Format' and 'Colour Profile' you are using, shown in the Document Setup dialog window
  2. Could you confirm the file format for the texture layer and the 'Colour Space' used, which is hopefully shown in Resource Manager
  3. Are you selecting a specific CMYK 'Colour Profile' in the Export dialog when exporting your file to PDF, and if so which one
