Hello did something changed in JPEG export in designer 2 or I have messed up some configuration on my side?

Just recently I did realized noise around everything I export at 85% quality that it was not there before.

Below is a jpeg in 85% and a 100% to show the difference.

I did noticed recently on my prints where some weird pixel spots started to appear around objects and started investigating.

I have to notice that this started happening in a freshly formatted PC and this is why I wonder if I pick something wrong here?

I have resampler "bilinear"

Thanks!

As far I know in V2 the default setting for JPG quality in PDF export presets was changed from 98 to 85%. (which does not mean a change in the JPG export algorithm for 85%)

A comparison with 100% is not really helpful. Can you upload a ZIP containing two JPG files exported with bilinear 85% before & after the assumed change?

Note, since your screenshots show PDF: if you save images after their export from Affinity in a PDF then they may get recompressed and their quality may get reduced.

By the way, I also get (expected) subtle artefacts around text in V1 with 85%:

I will fire up my laptop later to try to export from it, I'm sure it wasn't present when I was working through it when I had the desktop off for the upgrade.

I checked a jpeg that I exported with the laptop and there is some noise but not those "dots" but it was black on color and not black on white, I will test it
