Ngarrison
Hey there, I've searched online, youtube, forums etc. and cannot find a solution. Affinity Publisher on my 23' Macbook Pro is completely inaccessible. I've tried to quit and unistall and it won't let me do a thing. I've tried to restart my laptop and it won't even let me do that as it says Affinity Publisher is in use. What can I do here? Thank you! Ron P.
Welcome to the forums @Ngarrison, Not being a Mac user, I done a quick internet search and learned that Mac OS has a system function called Force Quit that is similar to Windows Task Manager. Force Quit The reason I mention that, is on Windows I utilize Task Manager to shut down/force quit apps that freeze and will not shutdown. If you can't shutdown your laptop, you need to force Publisher to stop. Once you succeed in stopping Publisher, then hold down the CTL key, while launching Publisher again. This should bring up Clear User Data dialog. Try checking the box beside Disable Hardware Acceleration, then press the Clear button at the bottom. Publisher should finish launching. One thing I'm not clear on, completely inaccessible, how so? Does it open at all? If the above does not work, could you provide a screen recording showing what's happening? Did you uninstall or you were going to try and it did not let you? If the app is frozen do as Ron mentioned and force quit the app. Cmd + Option + Escape brings up the Force Quit window. Select Publisher and then hit the force quit button.
Ngarrison
I was able to force quit, uninstall and re-install and all seems to be running smoothly now. Thanks Ron & Wonderings! This was exactly what I needed =)
