Some time ago (years!) I posted here many screenshots of photos that I had edited in APh until the app refused to "work". Being on a new project and cleaning up my folders and files, I found some photos that I don't think i had shown here... this may revive some memories for some of you 😁I was looking for patterns and colours and general composition:

Everything I've posted here now seems so long ago 😀

Much too long ago, that’s for sure!

@Alfred I don't use APh anymore, or very rarely, just occasionally to retouch a photo I've already worked on with the app.

In a very troubled world, your beautiful images are a glorious gift. Thank you!!!

@jmwellborn Hi Jennifer, when I found these photos I thought you might like to see some nature photos ☺️ Hope you are all well ☺️

Hi Patrick,

Indeed I did. I have always looked forward to the possibility that one or more of your extraordinary photos would still make their way here. I have also wondered about the cookbook you planned with your son. Bet the photos of food are equally remarkable!  Meanwhile, all well here. We chug along, if often distressed by world events.😔

Jennifer

@jmwellborn Hi Jennifer,
Well, about this project... it's still a work in progress & has been somewhat delayed. We had planned to finalise it this period but my son's career change. He wanted to go back to studying. First he passed his business management diploma, and then he took courses and trainings to become... a developer and he is working in a developer in an IT company.

So I've been working on it alone & it's taking longer because I'm doing other tasks (real work) and other projects at the same time... but I'm not giving up (I always manage to finish what I start).

Frankly, I can't remember everything I posted here and I've since deleted all the screenshots I took. I think these ones ha've been left ‘in a drawer’ 🙂:

Just as a touch of humour, here's a photo I found edited with APh v1 some time ago, just modified for the occasion (text & liquify applied to the head):

You do realize that some smart designer at Serif will now be using Affinity Designer to create a literal road map just to satisfy the badgering of customer?

A sort of cartographic revenge.

At least it will probably not be a flow diagram.

@jmwellborn Sure, I'll post some photos of the cookbook 😊
I've taken advantage of the current promotion to update to the Affinity 2 suite. I've just finished this one with APh 2 and I'm pleased with the lack of lag. I'll see if I go back to editing photos with Affinity but at least I'll be able to retouch the ones I made with v.1 if needed. Leaving Adobe may be a bit difficult.

Love it!  Who would ever have guessed that one tiny stem of flowerlets could have so many variations?

@markw @jmwellbornThank you for your enthusiasm ☺️

How can anyone not be enthusiastic about your wonderful images, Patrick? When I see that you’ve posted something I always know that I’m not going to be disappointed!

I may have already posted this one, I can't remember.

I can’t remember, either. Something tells me that I may indeed have seen it before, or a very similar one, but whether or not I’m seeing one of your images for the very first time it’s always a treat!

That’s true, Patrick, but you are particularly skilled at capturing what Nature has to offer.

@Alfred Thank you Alfred ☺️. The photo editing process may takes a long time to suppress/minimise what I don't want to show (dust, injuries (not caused by me) etc.) and to highlight certain brighter parts and/or certain reflections of light. These steps are adapted to each situation but are manageable by everyone when editing.

I did show this one but I "re-edited" it:
