Why is Affinity the only program that has a different "pt" scaling?

Recommended Posts

Hello, this is my first post in the forum, I hope I have done everything correctly.

In Affinity 1pt (or any other pt size) is gigantic compared to other applications. If you export a text as SVG and look at the pt size in Unity, Figma, Lunacy or other programs like Adobe, you will notice that it is always 5.56pt. So why is 1pt in Affinity 5.56pt in all other applications?

I hope someone can give me an answer or maybe a solution making the life easier. I hope this is not too often requested or annoying a topic.

Hi @Katejsej and welcome to the forums. The exported SVG is measured in pixels and your document is likely set to 300 dpi. Change the document DPI to 72 in Document Setup or when creating the document and you'll get the results you're probably expecting.

Cheers

It looks more like 400 DPI (the maximum offered value) because 72x5.56=400.32

To add to this, if you need to work in 300, etc, but export 72, you can set this in your Export Preset where it says "Use DPI:"
