Affinity Rat Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Having trouble logging in, see pic I have two iPads the one I’m using to type this message and the other one where I received this message. Now I’m logged in go to account settings, now I get the same message on this iPad, hmmm. I must be missing something here, both iPads one logged in and one not logged give same message. One when attempting to log in and the other when attempting to access account settings. The message box gives the option to sign out, why would I do that?, then I would have to attempt another way to access account and wouldnt be able to access the forum. A puzzlement. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 That sounds like you have enabled 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) in the forum's Account Settings, which uses Google Authenticator (but which could probably also use iCloud Passwords & Keychain on iPadOS if you've set that up properly). This is what the setting looks like in Account Settings for the forum: Affinity Rat 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Affinity Rat Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 Thanks Walt. Ok so it looks like I need to authentic another way, so the information given in the box is not correct, I do need to verify again. I cant remember my account settings but find it strange that even when logged in I must verify again to change settings. Quote
Affinity Rat Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 Ok so it looks like I need to authenticate another way, ….the email worked. Now able to enter setting with just a password. Just checked, Google authentication is not enabled. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 I've no idea what's going on, then. One of the Serif staff should be able to explain later. Good to hear that you got in, though Affinity Rat 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
