Affinity Designer 2.3.0 -- Windows 10

I observe this problem which makes using embedded SVG objects impossible. They always turn into Linked objects after reopening the file. Which obviously makes the objects missing in case they are deleted (or moved) from the original path.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Import an SVG object(s) into the AD file (eg. drag it from Windows Explorer).

2. Open the Resource Manager to check that the object(s) are Embedded (it seems embedded by default).

3. Save the file and close AD.

4. Open the file again in AD. Open the Resource Manager and now all the SVG objects are Linked instead of embedded!!!

Just checked this on an internal 2.4 build and it looks like it's been fixed for SVG as well. 👍

Existing documents with this problem are not retrospectively fixed however, the resources will need re-embedding and the document saved again when 2.4 releases.

The issue "Saving a file with a PSD embedded automatically switches the policy to linked when re-opening the file" (REF: AF-1416) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.1.2212".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
