pfi Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 I am getting a bit weary (and frustrated) with Affinity Photo regularly crashing on me. I just had another two crashes on the same focus merged photo while editing, in the last crash while using the dodge brush. But crashes happen randomly! From my signature you can see my desktop configuration, a standard Dell computer (I expect!). In a previous crash report (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/193066-af-photo-v220-crashes-when-editing-in-photo-persona/) I asked the question whether my desktop is incompatible with Affinity Photo? I have not had a reply to my last post on that topic. So my questions (again): - Is it possible that my hardware is not compatible with AF? - Do I have insufficient memory or is my PC not powerful enough? Editing images with AF is much slower than with other editors I am using. - After restarting AF the previous image is recoverable, but not the last one, the one that crashed AF. Now I have to go through the merge and edit process a third time, but I have no confidence in AF to succeed? Why is the last image not recoverable? Attached are the two crash reports. Thanks. 8c6bf84c-8395-4981-968d-1c259c9e7a61.dmp 2967521f-3075-45ce-8ab7-6ea8943c2b1e.dmp Quote Affinity Photo (v2.6.0.3027(beta) - desktop Dell Precision 3450 - Windows 10 pro - i9-11900 - 32GBRAM - NVIDIA-T600
Staff NathanC Posted December 14, 2023 Staff Posted December 14, 2023 Hi @pfi, From the specs outlined in your signature you do meet the minimum requirements to run the app, I can also see that you've already posted in regards to this crashing issue in the thread below: I've since chased this up with my colleague Gareth and he'll get back to you ASAP in your original thread to avoid any confusion/cross posting between the threads.
