desperatepotato Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 I am a textile designer and I would like to see a repeat pattern feature, so when I'm working on a pattern I can see what it would look like. It would also be important to have the option to use different types of repeats like half drop, diamond etc. this would be a game changer for print and textile designer working with affinity. Quote
NotMyFault Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 While waiting for such a feature out of the box, you can create some assets or templates giving such a preview with ease by using symbols.and artboards. all you need to do is creating a symbol from the base pattern shape, and duplicate it across the pattern (using rulers, guides, grid etc or simply power duplicate. save these these as assets. you can the fill your base symbol with any content, and will see the resulting pattern in real-time. fde101 Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Hi @desperatepotato, welcome to the forums! This has been requested numerous times already and there are many duplicate threads on this subject. It would be best to pick up this discussion on an existing thread for this feature rather than continuing this one as it breaks up the discussion and makes it harder to follow. Here is one example of such a thread: desperatepotato 1 Quote
