Focus remains on Document When in Guides Manager

I've noticed a slightly annoying bug when trying to edit guides on a document in Affinity Designer 2.2.1.

How to replicate the issue:

  • Open the Guides Manager
  • Single-click on an existing guide
  • Start typing a number

The focus is still on the document so it starts changing the opacity (as would happen when using the number pad within a document).

I realise I actually need to double-click on a guide to edit its value, but I often forget this.

Is it possible to remove the focus from the document when in a popup window, to avoid unexpected changes being made?

Hi @Checkmate,

Thanks for your report!

I've tested this behaviour on macOS and I can see that the key input is ignored when the Guides dialog is shown, for both the numerical Opacity shortcuts, and other tool shortcuts (such as 'P' for the Pen Tool) and therefore this appears to be a bug on Windows currently.

I am logging this as a bug with our team now. I hope this helps :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

The issue "[Win] Keyboard input should be ignored when floating dialogs are open" (REF: AF-1224) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.4.0.2222".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
