How can I change the size of the PDF in Affinity Publisher afterwards?

Recommended Posts

IN BRIEF: It's about adjusting the size of a PDF. how?

In detail: I wanted to create a squared book with KDP so Amazon 8,25 x 8,25 inch. I wanted to create a square book with KDP so Amazon. I used bleed because I have images in it that should be printed right up to the edge. Unfortunately, I made a mistake, so the PDF is a bit too big.  Because I have bleed in the middle of the book. I am now looking for a way to adjust it. I wouldn't mind if it was slightly deformed because it would only be shortened by 0.125 inches and it would hardly be noticeable. Does anyone have the solution? Thanks beforehand.

Hi Vivery,

Welcome to the forums,

Provided you still have the original .Afpublisher file you should just need to open it in Affinity Publisher then navigate to document setup and adjust the page size accordingly in the dimensions panel. You may also need to adjust the settings in the scaling panel to ensure your page contents resize correctly. Let me know if you have any issues.

Thanks
C

Do you want to crop the exported PDF? If yes, there are online tools available with a few / various features for editing PDF.

Or is the issue caused in particular by "inner bleed" in the PDF pages while the print service doesn't want this? If yes, you can deactivate the "inner bleed" in your Affinity document setup + export again. If you export with bleed it will create bleed only at those edges where you assigned it in the layout document.
