JSvW Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) I have a text frame with little crosses. The thing is unalterable. How can I remove this frame? And also, how did I made it? Edited November 15, 2023 by JSvW Quote
MickRose Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 The text frame is locked. Select it with the Layers panel - then unlock it with the shortcut Ctrl Shift L or use the mouse). Maybe you selected the object and then used a shortcut (Ctr L) by mistake. Quote Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
KarinC Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 That means that the text box is in a locked layer. Unlock the layer then you can edit it or delete it. Quote
JSvW Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 Thanks! I suspected something like this. But... The Layer panel doesn't show a lock. Also, Ctrl-Shift-L does not give any change. Nor does Cmd-Shift-L for that matter. Cmd-L gives a lock in the Layer panel and Cmd-Shift-L does remove the lock, but not the crosses. Quote
Dan C Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 If you are using Affinity Publisher, it's possible this frame is applied to a Master Page, meaning you can't directly edit it on the Page, as covered here - Quote By default, you can't transform or change the properties of a master page's picture frames and text frames themselves as only the frame content can be edited on a publication page; the frame itself is locked by default. Detaching the master page lets you do this instead. You can either: Delete the object on the Master Page directly Delete the Master Page applied to the Spread in the Layers Studio Detach the Master Page from this spread and delete the text frame. I hope this helps! Quote
JSvW Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 Thàt's it! Thank you. That possibility should have crossed my mind. But didn't. Dan C 1 Quote
