Tare Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 I'm still running an old Mid2011 iMac stuck on OS 10.12 Sierra, (not so) patiently waiting for the new iMac 24 to launch. I see in tech specs for V2.2 that you need OS 10.15 or higher to run it. Can I assume that V1 would run on an older OS (10.12) and if so, is it still available to buy? I can upgrade to V2.2 when my new iMac comes in. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 No, V1 is no longer for sale. The applications are still available for download for users who previously purchased them, but not for new customers. Looks to me like they are available now, in the UK. Or are you waiting for the rumored M3 chip? Tare Posted October 28, 2023 Author Posted October 28, 2023 M3 chip, yes. Buy a M1 chip now is basically like buying a 3 year old computer. M3 rumoured to be out late 2023. https://www.macworld.com/article/1484743/24-inch-imac-release-date-specs-m2-m3-processor-price.html Quote

This site seems to think it could be Nov 8 that the first ones are let loose and that’s just a week and a half away: https://wccftech.com/m3-macs-launch-date/ Hang in there, the day will come!🤩 Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
