Garrett Cobarr Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Did a bit of searching for this subject before arriving here but all I am finding is the method for outlining text as a design purpose (color palette, choose outline, choose color, etc) This is my first print project out of Publisher 2.x and the printer (Moo.com) is making a typical request, "select all of the layers, click 'Type' in the menu, select 'Create Outlines'" Of course, their assumption is that I am using Adobe InDesign. I've gone through the Text menu in Publisher but I have not located a similar command. I could, if I have to, move the project to Designer but I'd like to know how to execute this process in both applications. Thanks in advance. Quote
elk Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 depending on what you want to do you can directly add an outline color and width to the editable text or convert it into paths and edit the charcters there. You can use the Designer Persona for special tools. Garrett Cobarr Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 It figures that moments after posting this question, I'd find the solution. Came across a 2017 Designer post in the forums... Different menu and term but same outcome. Layers menu > Convert to Curves. Quote

Garrett Cobarr Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 Indeed, much better and more to the purpose. Even though I'd been in the Export > PDF dialog numerous times checking out my compliance I had not noticed this part of the dialog, when you are opening the dialog for the first time after upgrade, the dialog is smaller and that was scrolled out out of view, I missed it. Much thanks. It does look a bit different on the Mac in version 2.2.1 but all the juice is still there. Thanks again Walt. walt.farrell 1 Quote
