KarinC Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 I've been having a fun time playing with brushes in pixel persona. Designer 2.2.1 on Windows. First question is what does the "force pressure" option in the tool bar do? I can't see any difference with it on or off. I am using a mouse, not a tablet so maybe it is related to tablets. Second question is about resetting brushes if I edit them. I bought some brush packs from Frankentoon so I did not want to mess them up if I tried editing them. I adjusted a few things but decided to reset it. When I select "reset" nothing resets. What is the function of the "reset" button when editing brushes? Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 With a mouse, that setting won't have any effect, unless you set a pressure profile in the brush settings. You would need a tablet and pressure-sensitive stylus. Reset provides an undo function for any edits you have not yet saved/committed. Once you leave the dialog, the changes you've made (and not Reset) are permanent. So, you should start your editing by duplicating the brush. carl123 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 From the help file Force pressure—Click to control brush size with pressure if using a pressure-sensitive device. This overrides brush defaults. Reset only resets the settings whilst you are still editing them. Once you commit the changes reset will not bring back the original settings for a brush Always best to save the new settings as a new brush. If you overwrite the original brush's settings you may need to reload the brush pack to restore them to how they were when first installed Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. KarinC Posted October 26, 2023 Author Posted October 26, 2023 Thanks. I thought the force pressure had something to do with a stylus and tablet. I have thought of getting one but I am in my 70's and have bad arthritis in my right hand. It is a struggle to write with a pen so I worry that I won't be comfortable using a stylus. I can see though that the brushes would work much better with one. Quote
