Affinity Rat
Often I make a selection with the smart selection brush and it initially look great, but after copying the selection and zooming in reveals many pesky semitransparent pixels, ruining what I intended to be sharp edges. Is there a way to force the marching ants selection to be a hard edge in lieu of a semitransparent edge? Attempts to erase semitransparent pixels results in erasure on both sides of the marching ants selection.
GarryP
On Desktop, unticking (unchecking) “Matte Edges” in the Refine Selection dialog might get you what you want, up to a point, unless I’ve misunderstood your requirements. (You can check the edge more easily if you switch to the “Black and White” preview.) I don’t know if this facility is available on iPad, or where it is if it is, but this might help you to find it. Affinity Rat
Thank you very much GarryP, I will give it a go, on the iPad the refine selection adjustments options include: background, foreground, matte, and feather.
GarryP
You're welcome. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the iPad version then I’ll have to leave it for someone who uses the iPad version to get further into this as I only use the Desktop version.
