Affinity Publisher Book export issue (ENDNOTE back linking doesn't work)

Recommended Posts

Hi Affinity Team,

just working on a book (catalogue) in scientific context. So I am very happy about the endnotes. But I discovered a bug while exporting a book (with serveral chapters) with endnotes (at the bookend). I already wrote about here, but since this has to be a bug report, I write it again.

When generating automatic hyperlinks to the endnote, then the endnote itself should provide a back-hyperlink to the sourcepage. This works correct in a document with endnotes at the end of the document. But it does not work in a book with chapters, at the end of the book.

This was reproducible for me, see the attached book-files (mac-dmg) as well the generated PDF

best, Marcus

I've confirmed this bug. Hyperlinks from the numbers in note bodies at the end of a book aren't linked back to the note numbers in the chapter main text. They are from the main text to the note body.

Here's a simple test book.

The issue "Exporting to PDF with Endnotes set to End of Book correctly Hyperlink from note number in story text to Endnote, but not from Endnote back to note in story text" (REF: AF-709) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.4.0.2175".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
