I am wondering where the brush sets in AD live.

Specifically the sets that can be exported as .afbrushes files.

Reason:

I had been creating brushes in AD in the latest beta (1.4.2 (Beta 3). This beta is defunct til a new one comes out...

But -

My brush sets created in the defunct beta only seem to be available in the beta.

They need to be exported (from the beta) and imported to any other version of AD. I did not export them before the beta expired.

I am wondering if I can retrieve them either thru the next beta or if they live outside of the .app - can I pull them from another location? I would hate to have to rebuild dozens of brushes (and styles) because the beta locked me out.

Any information and assistance is much appreciated.

Miguel,

Thanks so much!

I am able to dig them right up.

Big files for my vector resources. Over 900Mb!

I noted I have  .affinitydesigner.beta, .affinitydesigner.trial containers as well as a .affinitydesigner

The trial version actually had brushes not in the purchased version.

I am able to copy the raster and vector files in and out, archive old ones in my purchased version and replace them with my brush sets from the beta version.

Very, very good to know.

Thanks again!

You Rock!

  • 8 months later...

This has to do with Affinity Photo Mac?

Is it possible to go into:  raster_brushes.propcol & vector_brushes.propcol.  located in: /Users/_YOUR_USERNAME_/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/user/ .

Then create folders to consolidate brush categories in Photo?

Would they then show up in Photo as new categories?

Over writing the old?

Thanks
