JohnTWolff
Running Sonoma 14.0, Publisher 2.2 on Mac Studio. Load old Publisher template, save as new document. Make changes without issue and save. Go to reopen saved document minutes later and Publisher stalls at Loading 1 document. Eternally. Refuses to load any documents, v.2.2 or earlier. Adding insult to injury: "At least one file is currently being opened. Please wait for files to load before quitting the application." Worse: Exact same failures with Sonoma 14, Publisher 2.2 on MacBook Pro. 100% reproducible regardless of files or system. I have restarted both systems. No joy there either. JohnTWolff
Follow up: Both systems now resolve to the requested files after about 30 minutes. Huh? If two completely separate systems stalled for 30 minutes and yet resolved simultaneously within seconds of each other, what was common to both? Affinity authorization server issue? Baffled... Hmm interesting and strange. 14 hours ago, JohnTWolff said: If two completely separate systems stalled for 30 minutes and yet resolved simultaneously within seconds of each other, what was common to both? Affinity authorization server issue? But you used and started the apps before after their initial install or? So I don't think (guessing) they always again and again need to verify server side authorization. Where there ~lock~ files generated and updated (needs probably show hidden system files in order to monitor) during this longer wait procedure? Staff stokerg Posted September 29, 2023 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2023 Hi @JohnTWolffand Welcome to the Forums, I've tried the same workflow and I can't replicate the freeze. 15 hours ago, JohnTWolff said: Affinity authorization server issue? Nope won't be that. When that's needed, it's done when starting the app. So I can try to replicate this, where are you saving your files? Locally, Cloud/Network or an external USB drive? Could you also upload one of your afpub files that is taking 30 minutes to open? I've created a Dropbox link here if you'd rather not attach the file to the Forums. Also, did you install Affinity directly from our site or via the Mac App Store?
Sudo_One
Hi I don't know if this helps anyone but I am having exactly the same issue under Sonoma. Publisher asked me to reauthorise iCloud which I did. Tried to open up documents I had created using the previous OS and it just hangs. Force quit required. All documents. The only one it wants to open is freshly created stuff. I have tried documents from iCloud, locally stored, iCloud downloaded documents. Luckily documents do open on my old iPad but if I save a document created in iPad using AP 2.2 it won't open on my Mac like the others. I have seen a solution that involves reinstalling publisher and loading all documents from external. I don't really have anything external to do this with and the instructions aren't too clear. I don't wish to bunnyhop on to someone else's issue but I thought this was better than a new thread.. Attached one of the documents I am trying to open in case it's useful.
