Exporting to PDF doesn't have stroke if letter V is in word with OpenDyslexic3 font

Recommended Posts

I have attached an .afdesign file, and a PDF exported from Affinity Designer. I am using the OpenDyslexic3 font which is available for free from https://antijingoist.gumroad.com/l/OpenDyslexic

As you will see, for the words with the letter V in them ('available' and 'activity'), they aren't exporting to PDF as intended. In one case, it's removing the stroke from the letter V. In another case, it's removing the stroke from all letters in the same word.

I have also pasted below the other letters in each word, without the V, so you can compare.

If I export as 'PDF (flatten)', then it displays correctly, but all other PDF outputs don't.

Is this an issue with Affinity Designer, or the font, or both? Thank you very much.

Hi @Keith Dudhnath and welcome to the forums,

This looks like a bug in v2.2.0 as it's working correctly in v1.10.6 and v2.0.4.

Someone from the moderation team should now log this accordingly for further investigation with the development team...

Hi @Keith Dudhnath,

Thanks for your report and information provided!

I can confirm I've been able to replicate this issue here and I have logged it with our development team - it appears to only occur when changing the Stroke Alignment from Centre to Inside/Outside - though strangely this does not happen for other fonts.

I hope this helps :)

Hi @Dan C, just to reiterate that this doesn't happen in 1.10.6 or 2.0.4 when changing the Stroke Alignment from Centre to Inside/Outside.
