v.2.2.0 - Catastrophic starting time

Affinity Publisher v.2.2.0:  6minutes 8seconds

Before the last update, all versions: 1-2 seconds

Same problem with versions 2.2.0: Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer.

 

Win11 Pro 22H2, 32GB RAM, i5, GeForce GTX 1650, Hardware Acceleration enabled

How can I go back to version 2.1 ?

download it from the website in your account under v2 licenses and downloads.

You can uninstall the 2.2 versions you have now, and download the older V2 versions from, e.g. for Publisher use https://affinity.store/update/windows/publisher/2 

Make sure you download the correct kind of installer (MSIX or EXE) depending on which you want.

There's a possibility you'll need to reinstall some Brushes, or Assets, etc. but probably you won't need to.

you can also try exe versions if you are using msix versions to see if it makes any difference in loading speeds.

Thank you, I didn't find this link before.

I installed versions 2.1 and now it works normally.

But, another problem raised.

My projects won't open because they're saved under the version 2.2...... 😒

UPDATE

After these installs to 2.1, I installed 2.2, and now everything is OK!  

I don't know why initial problem arise at the first place, but the good old deinstall/install combo worked in this case.

you can copy and paste the contents into a new document in 2.1.1.

FWIW I use the exe versions and 2.2 seems to start slightly faster than 2.1 did (a few seconds).
