How to export design as PNG and keep alignment/scale?

Hi all, I'm trying to export a design with multiple layers though the export persona in affinity designer. My goal is to import them in Mental Canvas to create a new moving picture.

The problem is when I export all the individual slices they all seem to import into mental canvas directly in the middle and on top of each other. All the layers seem to loose their alignment and scale. I would like everything to import as a nice picture, in their respective places as different layers as they are in affinity designer.

How do I go about exporting without loosing the scale and alignment? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Kawallito,

When exporting from Affinity as a 'slice', this is simply exported as a singular image that can have no concept of positioning relative to a canvas, or to other 'slices'.

If you were to export the entire document from Affinity in a format that supports Layers (such as PDF) then this relative positioning could be retained, however I'm unsure if this is compatible with Mental Canvas or your workflow.

Unfortunately I'm unaware of any options that would allow you to export each 'slice' as a PNG and have this positioning data retained, my apologies.

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

Thank you Dan for the response. This clears things up. At least now I can find a way to work around instead of spending time looking for an solution that doesn't exist. Much appreciated.
