Extreme Brush Lag in Designer 2

Hi,

I am experiencing extreme levels of brush lag in Designer 2. Any ideas what could be going on?

I have tried changing the performance/acceleration options, but nothing seems to help.


What Application are you using? Designer 2
Are you using the latest release version? Yes
Can you reproduce it? Yes
Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? Yes

  What is your operating system and version Windows 10 v22H2 Build: 19045.3448
   Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) Have tried both
   What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) Extreme brush lag - unusable performance

Thanks for your report!

Can you please provide a screenshot of your current settings under Edit > Settings > Performance for me?

Secondly, I can see you are using a 2500 PX brush, if this is also using a high quality textured image then I would expect some lag when drawing the brush preview as the tool is moved around the canvas.

Can you please also confirm for me, what is the size of the Artboard shown in your recording, and what Colour Format is being used for your document? (ie RGB/8, RGB/32, CMYK/8 etc)

Hi Dan,

Thank you for getting back to me. After multiple system restarts, the program suddenly started to perform as it used to without the extreme levels of lag.

If this happens again, I will post here with the details requested above, but hopefully, it was just some weird glitch with my system. I did have a recent Windows update around that time, so perhaps something went wrong there.
