De Haze Module (in french "Filter: Suppression de la Brume") Affinity Photo V2.2.0

Recommended Posts

Hello,

In order to harmonise the way Affinity Photo works (V 2.2.0), I'd like to suggest a small modification to the "De Haze" module.
Could you change the way the module works so that the settings you make are automatically applied when you close it, without having to press the "Apply" button.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Best regards.

Doing what you have requested would cause the “Haze Removal” filter to work differently to all of the other filters which require user input, and would do it in a way that wasn’t obvious to the majority of users, and the amount of ‘work’ needed by the user wouldn’t improve.

I think it’s probably better if we stick to using the Apply button to apply the filter and use the Cancel button (or Close icon) to cancel that filter, like all the other filters which need further user input.

I'm curious how your suggestion "harmonises" the operation of Photo. As Garry mentioned, all the Filters from the Filter menu that accept parameters work the same way. Your choices are to Apply, or to Cancel. There are just multiple ways to Cancel (Cancel button, or X to close the dialog) and only one way to Apply.

This is different from the way that the Live Filters work, but they do not have a Apply or Cancel buttons at all. Their design is different as they are non-destructive Filters.
