ASee
So now I have 3 Affiinty Designer V2 files that are allegedly corrupted. The thing is, those files I save and close out, then close the program and shut my computer down every evening. This is becoming increasingly annoying for me. I do have an external drive I save everything to and have been using affinity for years now without any issue of corrupted files, all the while saving and using the files from an external hard drive. I've noticed quite a few other people are having the same issue. When can we expect this issue to be fixed? How many more files that we pour our hard work into have to be compromised due to a flaw with this software? Luckily for me they are files that can be easily re-created but there are many out there who have spent hours, days, weeks and then for it to be kaputsky? Come on Affinity, get with the program. R C-R
They say they are working to eliminate or reduce this issue but there is no ETA for it. Staff stokerg Posted August 4, 2023 Staff Share Posted August 4, 2023 Hi @ASee, This is currently being worked on and changes have already gone into the current beta we are running. The below is taken from a beta post here On 7/14/2023 at 12:07 PM, Ash said: Important: This build also includes some changes to how we load and save files, in particular to be more robust when files are saved on removable storage / network drives and in scenarios when connection to those drives maybe lost. We believe these changes to be safe, but there could be more risk than normal with this beta that you could encounter file save problems / lose work. For that reason wanted to remind you again that we recommend you do not use the betas for production work and create a backup of any important files you want to load into the beta.
