Jared Finkenbinder
Hi there forums! I have been using Affinity off and on since Publisher V1 came out, I have 2.x ready to install but I'm waiting on some upgraded hardware first, so I'm still using the version 1.10.x apps for now. I mostly use Publisher, but I am learning Designer and Photo some. Prior to this I used mainly Microsoft Publisher and Paint.net as there was no way I could afford the Adobe products. So thank you Serif for making Affinity so affordable. Anyhow, I thought I'd share a three-fold brochure project I just turned out for my wife's accounting firm. I'd love your opinions and critiques. Thanks. Jared Finkenbinder Proximitas Local Marketing, LTD Alpha TaxHelp Brochure.pdf
GarryP
Looks nice. I haven’t properly examined it but I have three things of note: 1. The URL on the front(?) is much shorter than the URL on the back(?). Is that deliberate? Also, are the “https://” and “.html” really necessary these days? 2. There are two lighthouses on one panel on the front(?). Is that too many lighthouses for one panel? 3. I would personally lose the 'apostrophe-s' from the end of “Accounting” on the top-right of the front(?). Just what I would do, not a big issue. So would I, for whatever it’s worth. Less negotiable is this apostrophe on the second page: Quote Removal of Bank Levy's It’s plural, not possessive, so it should say Quote Removal of Bank Levies Also on that page: Quote Negotiate … Asking … Requesting … Offering … Filing … I recommend changing the first one to “Negotiating”. For a consistent punctuation style, you should replace Quote a "flat" (fixed) fee with Quote a “flat” (fixed) fee i.e. curly quotation marks instead of straight ones. Jared Finkenbinder
@GarryP @Alfred thank you both. I am going through it again this morning. The lighthouse graphic is my wife's logo. But you are right it's probably not necessary there on this page. I will go through the other grammar issues you noted this morning. Thanks for the suggestions.
