Affinity Designer 2: Forced pixel alignment don't let me move inside pixels

Recommended Posts

In the old editor I used to be able to use the pen tool and place the cursor inside a box in the pixel grid, but in Affinity Designer 2 it keeps putting the line on the edges of the pixel. Se pictures below. How do I get it back to properly place lines inside pixels? I have tons of projects that have been built using this method and I don't wish to re-do everything from scratch.

With a pixel grid Snap to Grid on and Force Pixel Alignment on I can still get to snap in the centre of Pixels instead of only snapping on the borders. Pink is the pixel grid, yellow and green are the "Snapping" indicators.

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi @freddiebox,

If you have Force Pixel Alignment enabled then this is exactly what the option is designed to do - it will force your object drawn to be aligned along the pixel grid.

If you disable Force Pixel Alignment on the top  toolbar, you should find that you are able to draw your curves midway through your pixel grid, as required.

I hope this helps :)
