Crashes when installing Brush pack

Recommended Posts

I downloaded Dreamphography brushes to desktop. AP was closed. I double clicked .afbrushes. AP opened, i.e. could see menu bar, but then it crashed. Tried opening a number of times without clicking on .afbrushes and it would crash again.

Log attached.

Hi @Les Hall,

This has worked as expected for me after double clicking the dreamphography brush pack, it opened in Photo and imported the brush pack successfully. To clarify, after doing this are you no longer able to launch Photo 2 normally without it crashing? Your crash report also indicates that you're using the Photo 2 beta app, have you tried this in the Photo 2 release app?

I would also suggest doing a factory reset of your brushes via a CTRL runup in the beta/release app:

  1. Close all affinity apps
  2. Hold down CTRL and launch Photo 2 (Or Photo 2 beta) whilst still holding CTRL
  3. A 'Clear user data' menu will appear, in addition to the three boxes already ticked tick 'Reset Brushes'
  4. Press 'Clear' and the app will now hopefully launch

If you're then able to get back into the app, try installing the brush pack via the 'My Addons' interface under 'My account' in the top right hand corner.
