  1. Nathan. Apologies for the original post. I forgot I am using the Beta of Sonoma. And not every app works perfectly. Please delete this post. LZ
  2. I downloaded Dreamphography brushes to desktop. AP was closed. I double clicked .afbrushes. AP opened, i.e. could see menu bar, but then it crashed. Tried opening a number of times without clicking on .afbrushes and it would crash again. Log attached. LZ AP Crash.txt
  3. Luminar is interesting. I preferred Luminar to Neo. They seem so close to being good but then they have to do wacky UI stuff or processes are oddly complex. If you want to try a more 'technical' RAW processor check RAW Power. Former chief engineer on Aperture wrote it. Let us know what you find.
  4. When I installed Bridge ACR came with it. But I installed the Cloud package with Photoshop to try and then used the Cloud Manager thing to erase Photoshop. Maybe it was left then. It's still working fine and has even been upgraded. I'm definitely not paying anything.
  5. Using latest 2.1.0.1736. I had processed a .RAF file in ACR and exported as a .PSD. Opened fine in AP Beta. Got dialog saying a new beta available. Agreed to download and install. No problems. The .PSD I initially opened before downloading the new beta was still open so I futzed with it a bit. Then hit Cmd-S. I got the save as an .afphoto dialog but immediately got spinning beach ball. Cmd-Opt-Esc told me the app was not responding. So force quit and then reopened and whatever dialog that comes up - Saved Emergency Version or something and I opened it fine and tried to do the same Cmd-S to save as .afphoto.. Same result, program crashed. Opened it all again (same crashed version restored) and this time did a Menu/Save-As and let the default be .afphoto and it saved fine - in fact rickety-split. No time thermometer, just bang! Saved! Just tried it again with a new .PSD file and with Cmd.S - crash bang wallop. But using Menu/Save-As worked fine. Attaching the first .PSD file. t-shirt 1.psd Y'all are doing great. Keep it up
  6. Totally irrelevant to being a pro or not. Some Pro's shoot thousands of images, some shoot a couple of dozen. Pro's use all different apps. Some pros don't even use DAMs and have files all over the place. It seems to me that event and wedding shooters are the ones that are always checking out different DAMs. There's probably no perfect one. I would have liked an Affinity DAM, but they didn't do it so I use Bridge and, gasp, often use ACR. It's certainly less clunky than Affinity's RAW developer. And as far as I can see gives me perfectly fine results. I use Fuji cameras and Adobe seems to have resolved the worm debacle. I use Affinity for masking and tweaking. No big deal exporting an image from ACR to AP. And that Bridge/ACR solution is free.
  7. I have my Layers panel floating. If I am working on it and try to invoke Tab (hide interface) nothing happens. This may be normal behaviour from before as I have only recently started floating that panel. The three colored dots in the top left of the main window fade to grey when the panel/palette is selected. If I click off the floater the Red, Amber, Green dots reappear in that the main window is n ow active and I can press Tab to hide UI.
  8. I don’t use shared libraries so that’s a moot point with me. As for exporting, as v_kyr said you can export any size you want, up to your images maximum size. Also you can export as “Original” which will export a RAW or JPEG depending on what you imported in the first place. It’s not Pro level but, if you are like me with under 20k images, it works well. I look forward to getting home to my Mac so that I can try out that new app with the catchy name that I have already forgotten…
  9. I used to use LR, but like many others I gave up on Adobe products after they went subscription after having spent thousands over the years on every version of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Pagemaker etc. I would buy the suite version. I did though, on the whole, like LR for cataloging files and processing RAW. I feel like I’ve tried every alternative and always end up just using Apple Photos. It’s free and gets failry regular updates. I keep all my images in folders on an external SSD which is backed up to other SSD’s daily. The images are all referenced into Photos, but not physically moved to the Photos library. You can do that and have the library (of referenced files) on an external disk. Like many Apple apps it has powers that are not always explained up front. One feature that I just discovered was in using the search function. I can’t remember why I was looking for “beer” but I typed that in and a bunch of photographs were found. All of them, except one, had either glasses of beer or beer bottles. There was one foto that had neither in them. I enlarged the image and there, on a piece of paper was the tiny word “beer”. And it was on a creased part of the paper shot at an angle. I guess this is a benefit of Apple’s newish technology that can find, and copy, words in images. Count me impressed. I also use the edit feature, but don’t use the Photos edit engine per se. I select an image and press enter which opens Photos Edit and from there, in the three dots in a circle icon, I select the RAW processor of my choice. I typically use RAWPower, which is a $30 (I think) app written by one of the lead engineers on Apple Aperture - a much beloved DAM and RAW processor sadly missed by the cognnoscenti. You can also pick Affinity Photo or whatever other foto editing app appears in the pop-up menu. I used to think an Affinity DAM would be cool. I would like to give those guys my money, but I no longer feel that is necessary. Although I would still buy it if they did release such a beast. Cast aside any opinions you might have about Apple Photos and give it a try.
  10. It looks interesting. The website certainly shows that it’s not from a native English speaking developer, so long as it gets the important stuff right that’s no biggy. Affinity not menioned as a supported app but I don’t see why it couldn’t work. But sigh, another subscription deal - although you can pay $100 for an actual license… I’m mobile and not on my Mac so will download as soon as I’m at home base 1…
