Xobs
Hi, I started up Affinity Designer on Windows today, and it said that an update was available. It prompted me to update from 2.1.0 to 2.1.1. I agreed to the update, and it then said "Calculating update...", and now it says "Install queued..." It doesn't seem to be doing anything, though. CPU usage is 0.1%, network usage is 0 Mb/sec, and I'm unable to quit either Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. Is there an issue with the updater? Is there a server or CDN that's not working correctly?
walt.farrell
The process, as I understand it, is: The application detects that the update is available, and asks if you want to install it. The application determines how big the update is ("Calculating Download"). Next it downloads the file. Next it passes the downloaded file over to Windows and says "please install this". That's the "Install Queued". After that, Windows takes over. I think it passes information back to maintain the progress bar, and it also signals when to stop and restart the application. It sounds like something happened that didn't allow step 5 to begin. Perhaps you need to restart Windows and try again? Staff DWright Posted July 24, 2023 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2023 Your firewall may be preventing the Designer and Photo from starting the update download from within the program, please check you firewall log to see if this is the case, you can also use the links below to manually download and install these updates https://store.serif.com/update/windows/designer/2/ https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/2/
