Does Affinity Designer 2 have hotkey support for this process?

Recommended Posts

I don't have Affinity 2 yet. Can Affinity2 MacOS do this:

- import pdf

- ungroup all layers

- delete a white background layer

- insert a green box across the bottom half of a text field

For reference, the status of scripting is discussed here:

...but I was thinking,

maybe I can script this with hotkeys?

In it's actual state I doubt that, as external scripting via some third party automation/scripting software (even Apple's own automation/scripting) would have to rely here either on available shortcuts for everything you listed above (via menu entries, direct available function shortcuts etc.) and/or also on certain x/y-positionings of object selections etc.

Hi @ajpearceUK,

You could achieve the following with relatively low mouse clicks and hotkeys:

  1. Import PDF - CMD + O [Open]
  2. Select the PDF in Finder
  3. Select > Select Object > GroupsUndefined by default, though can be set to any shortcut combination you want in Settings
  4. Ungroup layersCMD + Shift + G [Ungroup]
  5. Delete a white background layer - this depends on they type of layer this is imported as in the PDF file, and the contents of the rest of your file, but would likely need to be done manually
  6. Insert a green box across the bottom half of a text field - as far as I'm aware, this would have to be done manually currently.

If you haven't already, you can try a free 30 day trial of the Affinity V2 apps here, to see if they suit your workflow -

I hope this helps :)
