Compound -> Duplicate Linked = Empty Compound

What happened for you (and what you expected to happen)

I was in need of a duplicate linked compound ( Duplicate but with the end result being kept as a curve/vector)

I found that using Layer -> Duplicate Linked duplicates it but the end result is nothing apart from an extra entry in the layers panel.

Manually linking everything between 2 compounds does actually do what is expected.

This part escaped the "Feature Request" territory:

It would be really useful to be able to have a symbol that behaves like a curve/vector, as this would allow for a continuous workflow without having to resort to using the erase blend mode after a curve becomes a symbol

 

It is currently possible to wrap the compound layer inside a "Layer" which results in the Symbol being a Layer and not a group (It even has a different colour compared to the usual orange, which leads me to believe that this might already be something on the map), but when doing alt+Add Operation results in the Layer Symbol being kicked out of the compound:

Moving the Layer Symbol inside the Compound results in the end result being empty:
