bbrother
I can't find a solution how to create a table of contents from numbered titles and subtitles. Attached file Why is there such a large tab between the title number and the title. And why the page number is pushed to the new line. What i whant is: title or sub title number>smal tab like in the H1_Nr and H2_Nr> then right indent thab with page number. How do do this? Here are my numbered titles ad the problematic TOC. And here is the problematic TOC: TOC help.afpub
Staff NathanC Posted July 12, 2023 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2023 Hi @bbrother, Are you looking for TOC formatting like the below? It looks like the initial tab stop issues are caused by the text style being used for the TOC having numbering applied via Bullets & Numbering and there only being one initial tab stop for the TOC style. To correct the tabs after inserting the TOC in the Text styles panel I edited the 'TOC1: HR_Nr' style and in the Tab Stops section I deleted the initial tab stop and then re-inserted a left aligned tab stop at 10mm for the tab stop between initial number and header, and then added an additional right aligned tab stop at 160mm for the page number. The same can be repeated for the second 'H2_Nr' style but I gave it a left indent and different initial tab stop value to better differentiate it from the first headers. bbrother
Yes. That's the kind of table of contents format I'm talking about. I've been struggling with this for several hours. Thanks for your help and tips.
