Hi there,
I'm on a Mac running macOS 13.4 (Ventura) and Designer 2.1.1
Apologies if this is a repeat question.

I have searched the fora for this and I see similar questions but nothing that describes what I am seeing.

For a long time now, using AD version 1, I have been able to copy art boards, groups and even a collection of layers and then simply paste them into another application such as Pages or even Slack and magically get a portable image that works everywhere. I really had become quite accustomed to this miracle. So when I updated both applications recently I was horrified to discover that now what I get is SVG code.
In order to get similar behaviour I have to create a new document from the clipboard in Preview and copy from there before pasting.

I see from the bug fixes that there were some changes to the way copy/paste is handled so I am wondering ...

  • Is anybody else hampered by this change?
  • Is there something I have overlooked?
  • Is there a configuration somewhere that I can tweak?

I appreciate any information you can offer.

Hi @Silas,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

It sounds as though you may have the following option enabled, under Affinity Designer 2 > Settings > General:

If you disable this option, does this now work as you'd expect please? :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
