Refreshing a PDF resource crashed publisher

  2. Are you using the latest release version?
    Yes, 2.1.1
  3. Can you reproduce it?
    Yes. It happens on multiple PCs, for multiple users, and even for older releases like 2.1.0
  4. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem?
    No
  5. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following:
  •    What is your operating system and version (Windows 11, OSX Ventura, iOS 16 etc)?
    Windows 11
  •    Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?)
    Yes it is enabled, and it also happens if I disable it
  •    What happened for you (and what you expected to happen)
    Trying to refresh a resource crashes publisher.
  •    Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did).

  •    Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video.

  •    Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers.

Hi @AffinityAtWorkand Welcome to the Forums,

I'm getting the same issue.  This appears to happen when the same PDF has been placed multiple times.  We do already have a bug logged about this but that was marked as fixed a couple of builds back now.

I'll double-check with the QA team that this is the same issue and reopen the report we already have.  If it isn't the same, I'll get a new report logged with the Developers :)

The issue "Updating linked pdf placed multiple times can cause a hang" (REF: AFB-7339) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1951".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
