Pito Salas Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 I take a lot of photos but don't do a lot of editing. I am wondering, how does "tone mapping" relate to more detailed editing using tools in Affinity Photo? Are they two ways to get to the same thing? In other words, if you are experienced and know a lot about photo editing but if you are more novice you can use tone mapping? Is tone mapping a much fancier version of "Auto Enhance" that you find in MacOS PHotos for example? Also there are four categories of tone mapping filters. Most of them are too crazy for me. I want to keep my image natural but make better. For example a sky that's totally washed out, or not enough contrast etc. Can I get more categories of tone mapping filters? Which one would be a good one to try? Thanks! Quote

Or you can find some sets of Tone Mapping Presets in the Resources section of the forums. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q=Tone mapping&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=11&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_in=titles Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
