Paul Mudditt Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 On the Mac version you can select an image in Apple Photos, then select Edit with Affinity Photo 2, complete your edits, flatten the image then save directly back over the original image in Apple Photos. Obviously since Apple Photos is a database, it is always possible to throw away these edits and revert back to the original file (even raw) at any time while still only have a single visible file in the Apple Photos database. On the iPad version you can certainly edit and flatten an image and save it to the Apple Photos database BUT you are left with two versions of the image in Apple Photos, the original and the edited image. The Apple Photos database is the same on Mac and iPad so it is possible to us the REVERT function to throw away edits and return to the original files on both the Mac and the iPad, iPhone etc when using the Apple Photos editor, or RawPower editor or Photoshop Express editor. Please can this functionality added to the iPad apps soon as this is a seriously needed feature on the iPad. The other apps also include the ability to directly select the original image (including raw) or the flattened jpg version when importing so you can choose to continue your edits after any other image editor has saved to the Apple Photos database or the reverted version of the image. defean and Bobby1127 2 Quote Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on macOS 15.0 Beta Sequoia on M1 Mac Mini 16GB 1TB Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on Windows 10 Pro.
