genkin Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Perspective tool doing this to the tiara. I used dual plane, destination mode. I really feel like I need to go back to PS Too many bugs, this isn't working at all. Quote
NotMyFault Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 from the screenshot alone nobody can tell what happened, and if this is really a bug or maybe issues with the edit process. In some cases you can copy a PS workflow 1:1, but in many cases (like this probably) you need to learn a new workflow for Affinity products. Can you upload the actual file (with history), and describe the exact steps (or even a screen recording)? Did you use the live filter or destructive version? What exactly did you want to achieve? 13 minutes ago, genkin said: I really feel like I need to go back to PS Too many bugs, this isn't working at all. Do you want assistance to gets this solved for your file, or already given up? The perspective tools works in general, but the UI is sub-optimal. It is "optimised" for one use case: having a rectangular object, and changing the perspective to fit into e.g. a TV frame or Image on a wall. All other use cases (e.g. having a perspectively distorted object, and getting it rectangular again) are painful based on bad UI. genkin 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. The tiara was straight, this happened after using the perspective tool with the settings I have described. I need it turned to the left to match the head's perspective, so perspective change and tilted back somewhat. I have the newest AF update. I can not upload the file, as client's face is on it, but I am uploading the tiara. Assistance would be grand, I need this image asap Thank you! Quote
NotMyFault Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 I can't see what perspective you will need. As a workaround, I would cut the tiara into 2 parts left/right and use 2 dedicated perspective filters, one for each part. I need the perspective I have posted I the first image, but without these broken lines. Quote
v_kyr Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Try the mesh warp tool instead, in order to deform that tiara slightly sideways. Both work Ok in v1 app. Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
