lord darkul Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Yesterday I used the export persona for the first time and somehow I have the feeling that it exports the images as I created them. The standard export with the same settings seems to change colors to a slightly flatter look or am I doing something wrong? But my main feedback: Why is it not possible to resize slices to a given format, say 1:1 or 16:9? Quote

Can you please expand on this for me, are you comparing the export results through File > Export with the Export Persona slice exported file? The most common cause for a change in colour when exporting is a difference in Colour Profiles - so I would recommend ensuring that you are exporting the file with the colour profile that is set for your file. Are you referring to the 'slice' itself within the Export Persona, or the resulting export file? When setting an aspect ratio for an exported file, would you expect the file to be 'cropped' to this aspect, or resized to this aspect, ignoring the original aspect of the slice? Exporting Slices can either use absolute dimensions (ie 100px x 200px) or multiplicative values of the slice size (ie 12w, 10h - which multiples the slice width by 12 and the height by 10). Unfortunately as far as I'm aware there's no option to set an aspect ratio for the exported file, my apologies. Quote

What would it be good for? How is the application supposed to know that "1:1" means 1x1px, or 10x10px, or 123,45x123,45mm? lord darkul Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 Very often I use established ratios to frame my photos. So for example if I have a main photo and crop in via slices why should not every slice have such a ratio. Maybe the main photo was 3:2, staight out of camera. Now I want to have one cropped to fit on my screen 16:9 and maybe I wann try out a 1:1, 5:4, 2:1 and so on ... why is that not useful? Yeah, I know, that was not what slices are for. Really? Sorry, but I like the idea of having the convenience to do so if I like. If you do not want to work like this, go ahead and do not use that possibility. 5 hours ago, Dan C said: Are you referring to the 'slice' itself within the Export Persona Yeah, I want to create slices by adding new slices with fixed aspect ratio. Maybe a new "create slice with ratio", then you choose the ratio and as soon as you drag the new slice it has a fixed ratio. The exported files usually refer to the standard "1x" so I do not have to think about a ratio anymore in this case. Dan C 1 Quote
