Bugs/Omissions - (1) No Active/Disabled Indicator on Force Pressure (2) No Caps Lock for Brush Crosshairs

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I hope all is well. Just reporting on a few little inconsistencies that I've noticed.

1. When working in in Affinity Designer 2 on Mac OS desktop, when selecting force pressure there is no toggle lock or activation highlight on the button it doesn't affect functionality, but it's a bit weird. When I tap the button it works, but as it doesn't have a highlight it gets me confused and wondering if I've toggled it on/off or vice versa. This is not the case in Affinity Photo. When I tap it in Affinity Photo it stays highlighted giving a clear indication that it is either active or disabled.

2. Again, in Affinity Designer 2 Mac OS desktop, I want to tap Caps Lock to change the circular brush cursor to a crosshairs only. This is possible in Affinity Photo and works fine, but it doesn't work in Affinity Designer 2's pixel persona.

I ran a search, and I haven't seen them discussed here on the bug reporting forum. As both of these functionalities seem pretty basic and work across the other apps in the suite, it seems like these may have accidentally been omitted or are bugs of some kind so I'm reporting them.

Take care!

Hi @Robert Hansford,

Thanks for your report!

I can confirm I have been able to replicate this and it does appear to affect the Light UI mode only.

Equally, I have been able to replicate this here - I would expect this shortcut to function in Affinity Designer, as the Paint Brush Tool is essentially the same from Affinity Photo.

I'll be sure to log this both with our development team now, to be resolved in a future update.

I hope this helps :)

The issue "[macOS] Caps lock to toggle cross hair cursor doesn't work in Pixel persona of Designer" (REF: PD-472) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.2005".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
