A-- Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 The "Save As..." dialog that opens after selecting the export options always fills the entire screen and cannot be resized. Working with a full-screen dialog is annoying on a large monitor, but it also seems not by design, because the mouse pointer changes to the resize arrows and the dialog has the little resize triangle on the bottom left. carl123 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 The Windows key + Down-arrow key will "minimise" that dialog You can then resize it and the resize settings will stick (Windows 11) Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Dan C Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Hi @A--, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Equally, double clicking the top menu bar of the Windows Explorer window when exporting will restore the Explorer Window to not be fullscreen, allowing you to resize/move the dialog as you wish. 2023-05-14 12-11-12.mp4 I hope this helps! A-- Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 Sorry, took me a while to see your reply. This was a rather curious case. The window was showing a small sliver of desktop on the left, and it would show resize arrows when hovering over the edge. That made me think it wasn't actually a maximized window. The resize arrows are inactive. And there is no "restore". I can't remember whether I tried the double clicking or not. But seeing the exposed bit of desktop and the resize arrows, I may have concluded that it's not a maximized window. However, I've been able to confirm that: (1) double clicking works (2) the same weird state shows for "save as" dialogs on other apps, so that may be a windows thing. Glad it's not your fault, but it's pretty strange behavior to show the resize arrows and then have them not work. And to have double-click to not actually maximize, but leave a bit of desktop around the edges. The save as dialog also does not have the little button for maximize/restore next to the X. If double clicking doesn't actually result in a changed state (as indicated by going from "maximize" to "restore" button, there's then no real benefit in making the resize arrows non-functional. OK, enough, it's a Windows bug. Dan C 1 Quote
