Sunil Wu Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 I'm using Affinity Designer 2 on a graphic tablet plugged into a Mac. If I hit 'ctrl-z', then the last operation is undone. If I hit 'ctrl-z' again, then that last operation is redone. So effectively, 'ctrl-z' is both undo and redo. This is frustrating: nerfing undo seems pointless. I want to be able to step backwards multiple times using 'ctrl-z'. I know that the history panel holds an ordered list of operations, and I could use that. But on my tablet the scrollbar for the history panel is tricky use because of it's size and position. Is there a way to set 'ctrl-z' to just be 'undo' and not simulataneously be 'redo'? Quote
firstdefence Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Ctrl + Z is undo and not undo and then redo, take a look at your Edit menu on the top bar, to Redo you would press Shift + Ctrl + Z Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... Gripsholm Lion Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Have you customised your keyboard shortcuts? Perhaps you introduced an error or triggered a bug? By default, Cmd + Z undoes on Macs. Redo, by default, needs a second modifier, i.e. Shift. Maybe, you should check your app shortcut settings in system preferences, or Affinity preferences (in the Shortcuts section, change the second dropdown to Edit), and maybe check the tablet software as well. If necessary, reset any changes and start over. If your tablet has buttons, map one of them to Cmd + Z in the software; it may well already be that way by default as it's such a common function. If I am way off the mark here, my apologies; please ignore me. Old Bruce 1 Quote
