Bleed area help Designer V1

Recommended Posts

Hi

Is it possible to show the bleed line of a document but not the contents in the bleed area? If I go to View - show bleed I see the bleed line but also the contents in the bleed area what I would like is to see the line only.

Affinity designer V1

Thanks

Hi @Paulm,

Unfortunately this isn't possible in Affinity Designer (V1 or V2) currently, my apologies.

As mentioned, you can disable the view of the bleed lines, but this will also hide content within the bleed area.

This may be an option our developers consider adding in a future update, though this would be for V2 or beyond, rather than for V1.

I hope this clears things up!

Thanks for your help.

I have a workaround:

1. Create a transparent rectangle the same size as the bleed area
2. Add an inside border the same width as the bleed area
3. Make the border colour the same as the background workspace colour
4. Place the rectangle layer at the top of the layers stack to cover any underlying layers

Remember to turn off the layer before exporting
